Camilla Ridgers (b. 2000) is a New York and London based artist working across painting, drawing, and computational processes. A graduate of Fine Art and Creative Computing from Central Saint Martins, her work engages with questions of image production and classification, focusing on the interaction between material practices and algorithmic systems.
Ridgers frequently begins with visual material drawn from her own archive, which is processed through computational frameworks and subsequently translated into physical form. Digital output functions as an intermediate stage rather than a resolved image.
Distortions and errors are maintained as she forms the final work by hand, allowing the image to remain visibly shaped by both system and artist.
Across her practice, digital and manual procedures are treated as interdependent. The work examines mediation as a condition of image-making, attending to how images are interpreted as they move between systems, materials and ways of seeing.
